What we do and do not do
We introduce you to independent contractors. We do not perform work, quote for work, set prices, supervise jobs, or guarantee outcomes.
Any contract for work is between you and the contractor directly. We are not a party to it. Disputes about workmanship, pricing, scheduling or damage are between you and that company, though we want to hear about them and will remove companies that repeatedly fail homeowners.
Verification, and its limits
We verify business registration and insurance documents before a contractor can receive your details, and we display a badge only where the specific criterion has been met.
Verification means we checked a document at a point in time. It is not a guarantee of workmanship, and it is not a recommendation. Always confirm current insurance and licensing directly with the contractor before work begins.
Your responsibilities
When you use the site you agree to:
- Provide accurate information about yourself and your project.
- Submit requests only for work you genuinely want quoted.
- Not submit requests on behalf of someone else without their knowledge.
- Not use the site to harvest contractor contact details for marketing.
Cost information
Price ranges shown on the site are indicative national figures for planning. They are not quotes, they do not reflect your property, and no contractor is bound by them.
Reviews
You may review a contractor only for work actually carried out. Reviews must be honest and your own experience. We remove reviews that are fabricated, defamatory, or posted by someone with an undisclosed interest.
A "Verified Job" badge appears only where the review is attached to a job that went through this platform.
Liability
The service is provided as-is. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss arising from work performed by a contractor, from a contractor failing to contact you, or from information on the site being out of date.
Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including under consumer protection legislation in your province.
Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be flagged on the site. Continuing to use the service after a change means accepting the updated terms.
